Beloved former Village Clerk Patty Bowers has Passed

Many of you know Patty as a beloved former Village Clerk for our Village of Friends. Others of you know her as Mrs. Claus during our Holiday Parade and for other events. Still others remember her as a devoted wife of 49 years of Glenn Sr. and unending supporter of Glenn’s brotherhood in our Ballston Spa Fire Department. Patty is pictured with Glenn before he passed away on March 25, 2019 — exactly 7 years to the day Patty passed away.
Patty, along with Glenn, led by example in many ways, and that example helped pave the way for Glenn Bowers Jr., to work for many years as part of our Village’s DPW Staff and to become a leader in our Ballston Spa Fire Department.
The characteristics to remember most about Patty are strength, loyalty, and love. That strength was best epitomized this past December, when she fought off her illness to be part of the Village of Ballston Spa Holiday Parade one last time.
Her loyalty was to family and to our Village — she stayed involved with our Village until the end, always supporting our events and departments along the way, and always being a bright light for folks. She was passionate about making sure the Village thrived and remained a great place for others to raise families and work.
Her love was an unending part of her aura. She might have been direct and to the point throughout her time with us, but you always knew if Patty liked you with her warm smile and constant care.
We will all miss Patty, but we remain thankful for all of her contributions to our Village of Ballston Spa through service, family, and support over many, many years. Please join us in sending prayers and warm thoughts to Patty’s family and friends.
May Patty Rest In Peace.
